About this audition

Founded in 1952, West Australian Ballet is Western Australia’s flagship dance company and the oldest ballet company in Australia. Based at the West Australian Ballet Centre in Maylands, the company presents classical and contemporary works in Perth and across regional Western Australia, undertakes touring and international activity, and delivers community and education programs that broaden access to dance. Its repertoire combines established works with new commissions and collaborations involving Australian and international artists. West Australian Ballet is supported through government funding, ticket sales, philanthropy, sponsorships, grants and other partnerships. Our purpose is to enrich people’s lives through dance, and our work is guided by the values of Inclusivity, Excellence, Innovation and Integrity. West Australian Ballet invites applications from talented, classically trained ballet dancers aged 18–25 in 2027 to participate in our Company Open Audition on Saturday 31 October 2026. This is an opportunity for dancers to showcase their technical ability, artistry and versatility, and to be seen by West Australian Ballet. We are interested in dancers with a strong classical foundation who demonstrate artistic curiosity, individuality and the ability to adapt across a diverse range of classical, neo-classical and contemporary choreographic styles. The audition provides West Australian Ballet with an opportunity to see and connect with emerging dance artists. Please note that participation in the audition does not guarantee an offer of employment or a position with West Australian Ballet.
