About this audition
The Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, under the Artistic Direction of Ioannis Mandafounis, is looking for passionate improvisers to join their ensemble from August 2027. We are seeking contemporary dancers with or without a ballet background (but open to train in ballet daily), and with a substantial experience as creative performers. We commit to be inclusive of all gender identities and expressions. At DFDC you will dance in repertoire pieces and in new creations by Ioannis Mandafounis, William Forsythe, Thomas Hauert, Cyril Baldy, Boris Charmatz and Katerina Andreou. You will rehearse, perform and tour extensively, encountering many different audiences, in all sorts of contexts. Therefore endurance, curiosity and a desire to break new grounds are necessary. What to expect as a member of DFDC: Perform in the 3 yearly programs = a minimum of 50 shows between Dresden and Frankfurt; Tour internationally (in addition to the 50 shows in Frankfurt and Dresden); Participate in the company's outreach and education program (workshops, outdoors performances, post-show talks with the audience, etc.).
